Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, Spain is one of the largest conferences in the tech calendar, attracting over 100,000 industry leaders, journalists, influencers, distributors, and everything in between. Whether 2025 will be your first year attending MWC, or you are a seasoned veteran who has attended since 1987 (when it was GSM World Congress), preparation is key. So in the spirit of sharing, here is your ultimate guide.
Where do I go?
Yes, this is an obvious one, but MWC is crammed with panel discussions, keynote speeches and networking opportunities so it’s worth downloading the official MWC app (found here) and making a plan ahead of your travels. With over 2,700 exhibitors at the show, it will help you navigate booths within the massive Fira Gran Via venue.
Keynotes
There are always exciting presenters speaking at MWC, but be prepared for keynote speaker slots to fill up early. Whatever session you’re planning to attend, we advise, arriving at least 15-20 minutes ahead of time in order to make sure you get a seat.
Prebook
EVERYTHING. Whether this is a meeting room, restaurant or travel plans, I cannot stress enough how important it is to prebook as much as you can. While the Metro Line 9S takes you directly to Fira Gran Via, prebooking your ride (taxi, Uber, Cabify, etc.) and your nights out will save you unnecessary headaches.
Off-site entertaining
Looking for a venue to meet a contact? After a long day at the event, Barcelona offers you a fantastic selection of bars, restaurants and venues to unwind and network. Quimet & Quimet offers incredible montaditos and wine, while Cerveceria Catalana is a classic tapas bar located near Passeig de Gràcia. Bodega Biarritz offers you a relaxed atmosphere for the casual work meal, should you need one.
MWC is an intense but exciting experience, which means preparation is key to making the most of it. Plan ahead, schedule your meetings and press interviews in advance, make some time to see what the show has to offer, and get out into the city.
See you in Barcelona!
