Are you ready for IFA 2019?

With just a month to go, we are in IFA mode at Gallium HQ helping our partners get the best bang for their buck both in terms of press meetings and partner bookings. As IFA consists of over 161,200 square meters of show floor space, for around 1,814 exhibitors, you must think carefully about how your story will rise above the noise for journalists.

IFA can be incredibly overwhelming if you aren’t prepared which is why we suggest following at our three top tips below to publicise your product.

1. Book in press meetings now

With a jam-packed agenda, journalists run out of time to chat fast. It’s tricky organising a meeting at short notice – or while you’re actually at IFA – so we advise you start speaking to press now to make the most of your trip.

2. Make time to attend events like Showstopper

Events such as Showstopper are great for businesses of all sizes. It’s an excellent way to talk about your company and available products whether launching at IFA or already available. It’is an invitation-only media reception that enables exhibiting companies to directly meet with more than 850 pre-qualified journalists, analysts and key industry influencers.

3. Seriously consider having someone on the ground that journalists will recognise

With so many people and a sea of faces attending IFA, it can get tricky meeting journalists by chance or with a loose plan. Hopefully you’ll have a few meetings booked in already, but it’s hard to schedule time with all journalists and bloggers as their time is precious and their briefings will be scattered around the show floor. Often they want to wander around the exhibition and approach products they like the look of.

Because of this we advise you have someone on the ground that journalists know already. First to ensures they can grab a journalists’ attention as they walk past in order to meet with you, but also this allows you a trusted guide to make sure those interviews go smoothly.

Whether you’re attending IFA Berlin for the first time, or this isn’t your first rodeo, the event will feel incredibly long and having a support network will help ease any of the unnecessary stress.
